Royal Jelly is the Food of Queen Bees
In the 1950's, people began using Royal Jelly as a health supplement. Royal jelly has since become a commonly used nutritional supplement. Also referred to as "bee’s milk," royal jelly is a thick, creamy liquid which is produced by the worker bees who act as nurses for the bee larvae. The bee larva receive the royal jelly during their first three days. Starting on the fourth day, the larvae receive a different food source. Only the larva which are designated to be the queen bee, continue to receive the royal jelly.
Royal jelly causes drastic differences in the larva. A queen bee is 40% bigger than worker bees and usually live around 40 to 50 times longer than worker bees. During their season, the queen bee will lay thousands of eggs each day — equal to more than twice her body weight. These spectacular results are what led to interest in royal jelly as a food supplement.
Vitabase Royal Jelly is Almost a Multivitamin by Itself
Royal jelly is a very complex source of many things your body needs to function properly. It is rich in amino acids (including eight that are essential for human health), essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, RNA, and DNA. Royal jelly is a good source for many B-complex vitamins including B1, B2, B6, B12, biotin, folic acid, and inositol.
It is high in pantothenic acid and contains gamma globulin, which can stimulate the immune system. According to some studies, royal jelly shows antibiotic and antiviral properties, but further research needs to be done to support this claim.
